90 Minute Single Session Counselling in Harrogate & Online
When might single session counselling be useful?
You're trying to make a difficult decision
Perhaps you're trying to decide how you feel about having more children? Maybe you're pregnant again and considering whether or not to keep the baby? Are you in a relationship and you're trying to decide whether it's right for you.
Whatever the decision is, I help you explore your options and how you feel about them so that you can make an informed and well considered choice.
It is important to note that I do not make the decision for you, I won't tell you what to. I act as a neutral, judgement free, safe space for you to explore you options.
Processing a difficult birth story
This might be for you if you've found memories of the birth are affecting you. Perhaps when other people talk about it you feel sad, guilty, angry or resentful and you wish to move forward from this.
Maybe you want to request a Birth Revisited session from your maternity team but something is holding you back and you're not sure why. Or you might have already done Birth Revisited and you've been left feeling frustrated or like it hasn't quite helped as you thought it might.
Please note this is not for you if you are experiencing persistent anxiety or low mood or flashbacks that leave you feeling distressed. If this is the case, I would recommend 1:1 weekly counselling.
Working out your parenting method
There is so much information out there about different ways to parent. Combine that with our own upbringing and it can leave us feeling confused.
A single 90 minute session might be for you if you know you want to change something about your parenting style, either from what you're already doing, or from how you were parented, but you're not sure why and what.
This is an individual 1:1 session rather than couples. I can help you work out what you perhaps struggled with in your own upbringing and how to change this for your own children.
This is not for you if you want a parenting manual. I help you work out what is right for you and your family rather than telling you how it 'should' be done.
